These custom built specialty dies are manufactured from 1/4” thick, acid etched magnesium plates or from steel or aluminum and are used to imprint soft goods with logos, trademarks, numbers or letters, seam lines or any custom image that is presented to us.
Our emboss dies and accessory tooling are used to imprint emboss-ready soft goods such as leather, plastics, vinyls and card stock. They are typically manufactured using 1/4” photosensitive magnesium plates and acid etched to depths up to approaching 1/8 of an inch providing excellent image reproductions in hot or cold applications.
To start the process of manufacturing an emboss plate, the customer needs to send us a digital, high contrast, high definition black and white drawing, picture or image with the desired overall length and width dimensions given. Our knowledgeable staff can then fine-tune the image by adjusting size, shape, spacing or help further modify the emboss layout per the customers request.
After the emboss plate is produced, it is typically cut to size and length, and shipped as is or is custom mounted to any plate, handle, fixture or cutting die the customer needs or requires.
Our creasing dies and accessory tooling are used to imprint lines of any shape or width into most soft goods capable of being embossed. They are predominantly manufactured from solid or strip steel, aluminum or brass and are fastened to steel or aluminum base plates. They typically accent stitch lines or create ornate designs on leather or vinyls.
Both magnesium acid etched emboss plates and crease bars can be uniquely mounted within a sharp edge-cutting die. This allows two separate operations to be combined into one. This ‘combo’ emboss and cut die produces more accurate, consistent parts in halve the time compared to a traditional two-step process. A simple shim pack and optional rubber buffer allows the emboss depth to be adjustable if needed. Please call or email for more details.
